Hanson During our recent workshop regarding Code Enforcement activities, the Council indicated a discussion should follow regarding our priorities for this area. However, we neglected to come back to this topic at the end of the meeting. Therefore, I wanted to ensure you have the opportunity to reach consensus as to what areas we should be focusing on. My recommendation would be as follows: 1. Day to day complaints (junk cars, debris, outdoor storage, tall grass, etc.) 2. Temporary Signage 3. License Renewals 4. Ryan Industrial Park 5. Ultimate Golf 6. Removal of Trailers Used for Outdoor Storage 7. McDonald Battery and vicinity 8. Review of properties seeking licensure or zoning approvals to ensure we have addressed outstanding violations 9. Review of existing CUP's to ensure compliance 10. Proactive junk car identification 11. Buck Blacktop Another item of note is that stability in the code enforcement area continues to be an issue. Neal Powell asked for extended time off (45 days) to enable him to assist in fire fighting efforts out west (he would be acting as a security officer in camps housing the fire fighters). Neal is retired and wants to experience new opportunities. I informed him that I could not be without code enforcement for a 45 -day period at the end of the summer (he has already left for out west). Therefore, we agreed I would go in another direction. If it did not work out while he was gone, then we would discuss a role for him when he got back. He was going to provide me with a letter of resignation, but I did not receive it before he left. I am currently evaluating our option for on going code enforcement. I hope to have a plan in place by Wednesday's meeting. If you have any comments or questions in the meantime, please let me know.
