515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www. ci. tittle- canada.mn. us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: June 7, 2002
RE: Workshop on Redevelopment Project
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
George Sherman will be present at Wednesday's workshop to update us on the status of the
redevelopment projects at Rice Street and Little Canada Road. He will be presenting fairly detailed
drawings for the Senior /Retail project. He will also have concept layouts for the townhomes and north
site retail components. We do not have any drawings for you to review prior to the workshop. Mr.
Sherman will bring those with him on Wednesday evening.
He has indicated he could be ready to go this fall with the senior project. However, we are encountering
some problems in the Rutzick property proceedings due to a gap in the chain of title and legal description
that is complicating the eminent domain proceedings. (I have asked the City Attorney to update us on this
issue as well.)
cc: Sherman Associates
Pat Sweeney
