515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www. ci.little- canada. mn. us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM.: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: June 6, 2002
RE: Donation of Picture of St. John's Church
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL,
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel 12. Hanson
As you are aware, at the 25 °i Sister City Anniversary Celebration Dick Spooner of Thunder Bay made
a donation to the City of a painting of St. John the Evangelist Church that he created. Since the
donation was made, there has been some internal staff discussion as to where this painting should he
displayed. That discussion has focused on the fact that the painting is of St. John's Church. Given
this fact as well as the timing of the addition to St. John's, staff's recommendation is that the painting
be loaned to the Church for display in their new addition.
I would ask that the Council discuss this matter at Wednesday's meeting and provide some direction
to the staff relative to the painting of' St. John's Church.
