LITTLE CANADA PARK COMP SION MEETING <br />January 28, 1982 <br />• <br />• Present - Carl Spooner, Bev Ccalze, Bill Sanders, Jim Morelan, Elaine Zoch, <br />Lois Runyon <br />Jim Morelan promised to put up a plaque when the snow melts on the <br />bandstand recognizing the Lions Club donation. <br />• <br />• <br />Elaine Zoch suggested that before the puppet wagon goes out this year <br />we get a picture and a story in the papers. <br />Bill Sanders said that before we buy the Turnquist property (if we do) <br />the state may grant acquistion money. There must be an appraisal and <br />the grant request needs to be made by March or April. <br />Discussion on Spooner Park followed for spring work; <br />1. Let the bank in Spooner Park go wild with long grass and /or wild <br />flowers. <br />2. By the waterworks property across the ditch from Spooner look <br />into an archery range with bales and targets. <br />Bev Scalze mentioned that the city is looking at a proposal for the <br />property off of Rice Street behind MacDonalds and the Champlin Oil <br />station for a small shopping center. <br />Lois Runyon made the motion that if the above property is classified as <br />a re- sub - division the Park Commission recommends to the city council <br />that the city of Little Canada receive 10% in park charges rather than <br />land. Seconded by Bill Sanders. Passed <br />Carl was re- appointed Chairman of the Park Commission by unamious vote. <br />It was annouced that we tinter into another agreement with the old Little <br />Canada School on the tennis courts and ball field similar to last year. <br />The possiblity of an indoor ice rink was discussed . <br />The meeting was ajourned at 9:15. <br />
