Hanson As part of redistricting, municipalities are being asked to look at voting precincts with regard to the establishment of new precinct boundary lines or the addition /deletion of precincts. The deadline for submission of this information is April 30th. As part of the analysis of current voting precincts, staff looked at the number of registered voters per precinct. This information is as follows: Precinct #1 — 2,031 Precinct #2 — 1,977 Precinct #3 — 1,483 Please note that while there is no limitation on number of registered voters per precinct, the County recommends a range of 1,500 to 2,000 per precinct. Another factor that was considered was future potential development within current precincts. Considering the City's redevelopment efforts, it was noted that a significant number of registered voters will be added to the area southeast of the intersection of Rice Street and Little Canada Road. As a result of this analysis, staff is recommending that the southern boundary for the northeast segment of Precinct 3 be moved from Little Canada Road to County Road C. This will shift a number of registered voters out of Precinct #1 and into Precinct #3. The result should be a more even distribution of registered voters among the City's three voting precincts. 1 have attached maps showing Little Canada's current precinct boundaries and the changes that staff is recommending.
