MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 18, 2002
CUP &
ARCHITECTURAL
REVIEW —
3104 EDGERTON —
BUETOW
to get the first location given they were the first bus bench
company operating in the City, the second location of
Ameribench, etc.;
*Council designation of an annual licensing fee.
Kevin Moss, Ameribench, questioned the requirement for attaching the
bench to the ground. He noted that other cities prohibit this. The City
Planner indicated that the bench need not be bolted to the ground, but
some method should be in place to discourage the tipping over of benches.
Danielson noted that the benches are quite heavy and they have not had a
problem with benches being tipped.
Barraclough recommended approval of the ordinance amending Section
903.110 of the Little Canada City Code, known as the Zoning Ordinance,
by providing for bus benches with off - premise advertising signage located
as submitted by the City Planner.
Motion seconded by Roycraft.
Motion carried 5 — 0.
Barraclough recommended approval of the ordinance amending the City
Code by providing for bus benches provided by private companies
incorporating the modifications recommended by City staff
Motion seconded by Duray.
Motion carried 5 — 0,
Herman and Bob Buetow appeared before the Commission requesting
approval of a Conditional Use Permit allowing outdoor storage and
Architectural Review for a building addition to their existing building at
3 104 Edgerton Street. Herman Buetow noted the Planner's comments
that the proposed parking layout was non- functional. Buetow reported
that the parking would not present a site circulation parking as the parking
spaces are occupied with employee vehicles that are parking on the site
while employees are off-site working. Buetow reported that there are
typically just a couple of employee vehicles parked on the property as
some employees go directly to job sites. However, Buetow presented a
revised diagram that angled the parking in front of the existing building.
The City Planner indicated that angling the parking will help resolve the
circulation concerns.
