515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: February 22, 2002
RE: MnDot Joint Powers Agreement
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Last June, we approved a Cooperative Agreement with the City of Shoreview relative to the joint
planning project involving the Rice Street /694 Interchange. The Minnesota Department of Transportation
has required changes to this document in order to ensure their participation. The primary change involves
restating the parties to the agreement referencing it as a MnDot Joint Powers Agreement. The other
change involves referring to Metro Transit as the Metropolitan Council. Otherwise, the agreement will
remain as previously approved.
Based upon our prior approval, I would recommend approval of this revised Joint Powers Agreement
(MnDot Agreement No. 81650) as a replacement to the Cooperative Agreement we executed with the
City of Shoreview that was dated June 27, 2001.
