EXTRACT OF THE MINUTES OF' MEETING OF THE CITY COUNICL OF LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA MARCH 13, 2002 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the City Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was duly called and held at the Little Canada City Center in said City at 7:30 p.m. The following member were present: And the following members were absent: Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SEIERMAN ASSOCIATES' APPLICATION TO THE RAMSEY COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND DAKOTA COUNTY CONSORTIUM HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS RICE STREET AND LITTLE CANADA ROAD GATEWAY REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Little Canada recently adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan as well as a Redevelopment Guide that included a review of land use and redevelopment opportunities within the City; and WHEREAS, the City has identified and southeast corner of Rice Street and Little Canada Road as a priority for redevelopment; and WHEREAS, the updated land use plan identities mixed-use development as appropriate for this site, including a mix of housing and neighborhood retail services; and WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan also calls for the creation of new life -cycle and affordable housing opportunities in the City to meet changing community needs. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City supports Sherman Associates' efforts to provide affordable senior housing at this site and asks Ramsey County to join the City and Sherman Associates as a partner in this development. The motion was duly seconded by Council Member and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: And the following voted against the same: This resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by 13th day of March, 2002.
