Based on the above we concluded that any equipment that would be a good deal for the city was above our budget amount. To stay within budget and keep the number of pieces of equipment to a minimum, we are proposing to sell the existing Ford tractor, which is valued between $9,000 and $11,000. That increases the budget to about $19,000. Based on this we contacted Ramsey County Public Works who is selling a tractor with a front -end bucket already installed on it that meets our needs. The 1990 Case 580K Tractor has a claw type multi- front -end bucket, an enclosed cab, and a rear mounted backhoe. We had a Case Tractor Dealer inspect the tractor and they determined it is in very good shape and is valued to be between $20,000 and $24,000. We negotiated the County to $18,000 and agreed to allow them to use the tractor when we were not using it (the tractor will be owned by the city and housed at our Public Works garage).
