Hanson <br />Background <br />As part of our on -going goal to reduce the amount of Inflow and Infiltration (I & I) of storm water and /or <br />ground water from entering our sanitary sewer system, staff inspects our sanitary sewer system and <br />identifies repair work needed to eliminate these problems. <br />A total of 11 manholes were identified needing repair work ranging from ring repair to barrel sealing. In <br />addition, 2 manholes need pipe modification for better 3 additional manholes need modifications to provide <br />access for cleaning and sealing. <br />Staff developed a scope of work and sent a request for proposals to four contractors known to perform this <br />work. The results are as follows: <br />Contractor Proposed Amount <br />Infratech $11,629 <br />Lametti & Sons, Inc. $25,100 <br />Veit & Company, Inc. $49,650 <br />Visu -Sewer Clean & Seal, Inc. No Proposal <br />Staff's estimate for this work is $18,000. Staff evaluated the methods the contractor proposed to <br />accomplish the identified work and the associated cost. Based on this evaluation, Infratech provided the <br />least cost proposal that will accomplish the identified worlc, thus providing the best value to the City. <br />Infratech indicated that they propose to accomplish this work between January 1st and January 151h, 2004. <br />Budget <br />There is $47,394 in the 2003 Water /Sewer Capital Replacement Budget (Repair to Sewer System) for this <br />work. <br />Recommendation <br />The Council direct staff to enter into a contract with Infratech, for our sanitary sewer repair work <br />for the total amount not to exceed 311,629. <br />11kVG res5t.Sanitary Sewer It Repair TV ork Vlemo to CoanciLdoc <br />
