1203. DISCHARGE AND CONCEALMENT <br />1203.010. DISCHARGE OF DEADLY WEAPONS. Except as <br />specifically authorized in this chapter, all discharging and use of <br />deadly weapons within the City of Little Canada are hereby <br />prohibited. The term "deadly weapon" as used herein shall include <br />the following: all firearms; bows and arrows when arrows are point <br />tipped; all instruments used to expel at high velocity any pellets <br />of any kind, including, but not limited to B -B guns and air rifles; <br />sling shots; sand clubs; metal knuckles; and daggers, dirks and <br />knives. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot, discharge, or explode <br />any preparation of potash, mixture of sulphur and saltpeter, <br />nitroglycerin, dynamite, plastic explosive, fireworks, or any other <br />kind of explosive material, and all such acts are hereby prohibited <br />unless specifically authorized by permit issued by the City. <br />1203.020. CONCEALED WEAPONS. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person within the limits of Little Canada to carry or wear <br />concealed about his person, any pistol, dagger, switch blade knife, <br />bowie knife, razor, metal knuckles, or any other dangerous or <br />deadly weapons. <br />1203.030. TERM. The term firearms, as used in this Code, <br />shall include gas guns, pressure guns, air guns, or other guns. <br />1203.040. CONFISCATION BY CITY. Any weapons or explosive <br />materials duly adjudged by the Municipal Court to have been <br />discharged, worn or carried in violation of this Code shall be <br />confiscated and such weapons shall be turned over to the Chief of <br />Police of the City of Little Canada to be kept, sold or disposed of <br />in the manner herein provided. <br />1203.050. USE BY LITTLE CANADA POLICE. Any weapons or <br />materials confiscated pursuant to this Code may be kept or used by <br />the police department if such are adaptable to police purposes. <br />Any weapons and materials which would be dangerous to reintroduce <br />into channels of private sale or use, may, in the discretion of the <br />City police, be destroyed. Any weapons or materials which may be <br />safely placed in the hands of private owners may be sold by the <br />police at public auction pursuant to at least two (2) weeks <br />published notice of such sale. <br />1203.060. NOT APPLICABLE. This Code shall not apply to <br />police officers or other authorized personnel when using firearms <br />or other weapons in the regular course of performing their duties. <br />1203.070. LICENSE. A license to carry concealed weapons or <br />to discharge firearms may be issued by the Council pursuant to <br />application to the City Administrator.
