I- Janson <br />The State Legislature recently passed a law allowing City Managers who had previously elected to <br />not join the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) Plan to re -opt into the Plan. (See <br />information sheet attached.) This law went into effect on August 1, 2003. <br />It would be my desire to participate in the PERA retirement plan. The new law requires that the City <br />Council approve my inclusion in PERA. There will be no cost impact to the City budget as a result <br />of this action. <br />
