L-iauso
As you may recall some of the residents living along Park Street have expressed concern about on-
street parking at the south end of Park Street. It is their feeling that a safety hazard exists when
vehicles are parked along the curb as a result of restricted visibility due to the hill and curve in the
street between approximately 2550 and 2560 Park Street. Council Member LaValle at the request of
some residents requested that staff investigate the need for a no parking zone along Parlc Street.
As indicated in our August 22, 2003 memo 12 property owners were surveyed, and as of today, 6
responses have been received. The results are as follows:
4 No Parking on the East Side of Park Street
1 No Parking on the West Side of Park Street
1 No Parking on Both Sides of Park Street
To allow some parking in this area, staff recommendation is to estab sifa no- parking zone along the
east side of Park Street starting at Demont Avenue and going r approximately 510 feet to about the
middle 2560 Park Street. This would maintain ar ups ructed line of site for drivers backing out of
their driveways.
The safest solution would be to tact park along both sides. But this would eliminate daily parking
in this area. Please note th in order to accotmnodate residents who live adjacent to no- parking zones
who periodically requi , on- street parking due to special events, the City issues on- street parking
permits upon reques
1: (1;cgsASlreeIs\No Pail:Mg on Park 1Irce[_.doo
- 1 3 -
