COMMUIVIIY PRIDE
1953 — 2003
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
wwm.ci.little- canada.mn.us
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
CO UNCIL,
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
DATE: August 22, 2003
RE: No Parking on Park Street
As you may recall some of the residents living along Park Street have expressed concern about on-
street parking at the south end of Park Street. It is their feeling that a safety hazard exists when
vehicles are parked along the curb as a result of restricted visibility due to the hill and curve in the
street between approximately 2550 and 2560 Park Street. Council Member LaValle at the request of
some residents requested that staff investigate the need for a no parking zone along Park Street.
The City Council briefly discussed this matter at your August 13th meeting. You directed staff to
contact the impacted owners of this issue. In addition, to contacting the impacted owners, staff has
also chosen to survey them to determine the preference of the majority of the property owners.
Attached is a copy of the memo and survey form sent to them. Also attached are the results of the
surveys received to date. Please note that 12 property owners were surveyed, and 4 responses have
been received. The results are as follows:
3 No Parking on the East Side of Park Street
1 No Parking on Both Sides of Park Street
If additional surveys are received by Wednesday's meeting, I will update the results for your
consideration at Wednesday's meeting.
11: \GregS \Streets \No Parking on Park Street 2.doe 1
