Hanson <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director <br />DATE: August 18, 2003 <br />RE: Unweave the Weave Noise Walls <br />MnDot has completed 60% drawings for the Unweave the Weave project. MnDot is proposing to <br />install noise walls along both I -35E and I -694 as part of this project at the locations shown on the <br />attached sketch. <br />During staff review, we determined that MnDot has added some additional noise walls within our city <br />and that they are proposing to install noise walls primarily at residential areas. However, we believe <br />they have missed some critical areas that will adversely impact our residents as shown on the attached <br />sketch. In addition, we believe they could delete the two noise walls along Country Drive as these <br />areas are zoned commercial. <br />Based on your concurrence, staff will draft and send a letter to MnDot requesting them to delete the <br />two sections of noise wall along Country Drive and add noise wall at the locations identified. <br />CC: City of Vadnais Heights <br />n:AGregSAProposed 1 694 & 1 758 Project ANoise \Valls.doc <br />1 <br />
