City of Little Canada, Minnesota <br />Ordinance <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1006.030 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY <br />CODE, KNOWN AS THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE, BY PROVIDING FOR <br />AMENDED REGULATIONS RELATING TO DEAD-END AND CUL-DE-SAC STREETS. <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby ordains: <br />Section 1. <br />Section 1006.030 (b) is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(b) Local Streets and Dead-End Streets. Local streets should be planned so as to <br />discourage their use by non-local traffic. Dead-end streets are prohibited, but cul-de-sacs <br />shall be permitted where topography or other physical conditions justify their use. <br />Except for "Temporary Cul-de-sacs" in Section 1006 030 (d) cul-de-sac streets shall not <br />be longer than five hundred (500) feet in length, including a terminal turn-around which <br />shall be provided at the closed end, with aright-of--way radius of not less than fifty (50) <br />feet. Such length shall be measured from the centerline intersection with the nearest <br />street to the end of the cul-de-sac. The Citv reserves the right to require without the need <br />for a variance. longer cul-de-sac length where additional natural resources will be <br />preserved without nesatively impacting public safety The requirement for a lon eg r cul <br />de-sac shall not be applied solely because a subdivider wishes to increase lot count in a <br />subdivision. <br />Section 2. <br />Section 1006.030 (d) is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(d) Temporary Cul-De-Sac. h "-~°~ ~~~*°~~~~ ~~ ~ A temporary cul-de-sac is a <br />street which is terminated pending future extension in conjunction with a future <br />subdivision. For such temporary cul-de-sacs, a temporary turn around facility shall be <br />provided at the closed end, in conformance with cul-de-sac requirements for cul-de-sac <br />radius. <br />Section 3. <br />Section 1010.010 (a) is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(a) That there are special and highly unique circumstances or conditions affecting said <br />propei•cy which are not common to other properties in the City and that the strict application <br />of the provisions of this Ordinance would deprive the applicant of the reasonable and <br />m:n use of his land. <br />
