A license for massage therapy as an accessory use shall be reviewed <br />annually. No license approved by the City grants the licensee a property right or entitlement to a <br />license. The City Council may refuse to issue, refuse to renew, or may suspend or revoke a <br />license for any reason, and the City will not incur liability for any damages including, but not <br />limited to, direct, consequential, or incidental damages, deprivation of property, loss of income, <br />loss of profits, or loss of livelihood. <br />Section 4. <br />Section 2202.040 ¶6 is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada <br />to read as follows: <br />2202.040 ¶6. MASSAGE THERAPY AS A PRINCIPAL USE. <br />2203.010. DEFINITIONS. <br />(A) The term "massage therapy" means the rubbing, stroking, kneading, tapping or <br />rolling of the body with the hands or other parts of the body for the exclusive purpose of <br />relaxation, physical fitness, or beautification and for no other purpose. <br />The practice of massage therapy is hereby declared to be distinct from the licensed <br />practice of medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic, physical therapy, podiatry, and nursing, as well as <br />the professions of athletic coaching and training. Persons engaged in those professions are <br />exempt from the provisions of this ordinance. <br />(B) The term "massage therapist" means a person who practices massage therapy. <br />2 <br />3 <br />
