MINUTES PARK CHARGES MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA May 1, 2003 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 1" day of May, 2003 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. Chair Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the Commission were present: MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair Mr. James Broten Ms. Gretchen Crary Mr. David Gray Mr. Craig Larson Mr. Robert Schabacker Mr. Kevin Steinert ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, P &R Director Broten recommended that the minutes of the meeting on April 3, 2003 be approved as submitted. Motion seconded by Gray. Motion carried 7— 0. The Director stated that the first property in question is next to the apartment /retail building going up where the Venetian Inn used to be located. He stated that town homes will be built on the site and he doesn't see a need for parkland in that area. Sackett Glaser agreed since there is already parkland nearby. Schabacker recommended that cash he accepted in lieu of land for the park charge on The Village of Little Canada town homes. Motion seconded by Larson. Motion carried 7— 0. The Director stated that the second property is located on Twin Lake Road. A cul -de -sac will be installed with a half dozen lots on the parcel. This property is known as the Hamel property and is located just east of the Pratt development. There is a home on the property that will be demolished. This property does not impact the proposed on- street trail located on Twin Lake Boulevard and the Director felt there was no need for parkland in this area. Page 1of4
