706. DANCING AND ENTERTAINMENT LICENSE 706.010. LICENSE REQUIRED. It shall be unlawful for any person, fi uu or corporation licensed under this Chapter to provide dancing, singing, or vaudeville performances or entertainment for its guests, or provide guests with the privilege of dancing, within the limits of the City without first having obtained a license to do so as hereinafter provided. 706.020. WRITTEN APPLICATION. Any person desiring a dancing and entertainment license shall make his or her application in writing to the City Council by filing said application with the City Administrator. The following information shall be set forth in the application: (1) Name and place of residence of the applicant. (2) The exact location of the premises upon which the applicant proposes to provide dancing and entertainment. (3) Whether the applicant has ever been engaged in a similar business and, if so, the location thereof and the date when so engaged. (4) Whether the applicant proposes to afford the privilege of dancing to his or her guests or whether vaudeville entertainment will be afforded or whether both will be provided. In case the applicant proposed to afford the public the privilege of dancing, the application shall set forth the amount of floor space available which the applicant proposes to maintain for dancing purposes. 706.040. LICENSE FEE. The applicant shall pay to the City at the time of filing of his /her application, a license fee as set forth by City Council resolution. The City shall thereupon deliver to such applicant duplicate receipts therefor containing a statement of the purpose for which such deposit was made and one of said receipts shall be attached to and filed with said application. 706.050. INSPECTION OF PREMISES. The Council shall direct such investigation of said application as it may deem necessary, and the applicant shall permit the representatives of any City Department to inspect and examine the place of business described in the application together with all the appliances and instruments used or to be used in the transaction of the business for which a license is sought, and upon receipt of such report, the Council shall thereafter consider the application and grant or deny the same. 706.060. PERIOD OF LICENSE. Licenses herein provided for shall run until the following July 1, and if for a period of shorter than one (1) year, the license fee shall be prorated on a monthly basis.
