706. DANCING AND ENTERTAINMENT LICENSE <br />706.010. LICENSE REQUIRED. It shall be unlawful for any person, fi uu or corporation <br />licensed under this Chapter to provide dancing, singing, or vaudeville performances or entertainment <br />for its guests, or provide guests with the privilege of dancing, within the limits of the City without <br />first having obtained a license to do so as hereinafter provided. <br />706.020. WRITTEN APPLICATION. Any person desiring a dancing and entertainment <br />license shall make his or her application in writing to the City Council by filing said application with <br />the City Administrator. The following information shall be set forth in the application: <br />(1) <br />Name and place of residence of the applicant. <br />(2) The exact location of the premises upon which the applicant proposes to provide <br />dancing and entertainment. <br />(3) Whether the applicant has ever been engaged in a similar business and, if so, the <br />location thereof and the date when so engaged. <br />(4) Whether the applicant proposes to afford the privilege of dancing to his or her guests <br />or whether vaudeville entertainment will be afforded or whether both will be provided. In case the <br />applicant proposed to afford the public the privilege of dancing, the application shall set forth the <br />amount of floor space available which the applicant proposes to maintain for dancing purposes. <br />706.040. LICENSE FEE. The applicant shall pay to the City at the time of filing of <br />his /her application, a license fee as set forth by City Council resolution. The City shall thereupon <br />deliver to such applicant duplicate receipts therefor containing a statement of the purpose for <br />which such deposit was made and one of said receipts shall be attached to and filed with said <br />application. <br />706.050. INSPECTION OF PREMISES. The Council shall direct such investigation <br />of said application as it may deem necessary, and the applicant shall permit the representatives of <br />any City Department to inspect and examine the place of business described in the application <br />together with all the appliances and instruments used or to be used in the transaction of the business <br />for which a license is sought, and upon receipt of such report, the Council shall thereafter consider <br />the application and grant or deny the same. <br />706.060. PERIOD OF LICENSE. Licenses herein provided for shall run until the <br />following July 1, and if for a period of shorter than one (1) year, the license fee shall be prorated on <br />a monthly basis. <br />(Source: Ord. 345.
