Hanson RE: Amendment to Personnel Policy Relative to Building Official and Accounting Supervisor Positions It is my recommendation that the Personnel Policy be amended to convey department head status to the positions of Building Official and Accounting Supervisor. The impact of this amendment is these positions would be eligible for one additional week of vacation each year subject to satisfactory performance. No salary adjustments proposed as the salary scales for these positions were revised to reflect this status as part of our 2003 Budget adoption process. I would further recommend that this action be retroactive to January 1, 2003, thus providing an additional week of vacation for the Accounting Supervisor during 2003 given her satisfactory performance in 2002. Please note that the Building Official was hired as a City employee effective January 1, 2003; therefore, the vacation issue does not arise until 2004. This recommendation is also subject to execution of an employment agreement between the City and the Accounting Supervisor. An employment agreement has already been negotiated and approved with the Building Official.
