MINUTES
CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT —
450 LITTLE
CANADA ROAD —
ST. JOHN'S
CHURCH
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
APRIL 10, 2003
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of
April, 2003 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515
Little Canada Road in said City.
Chair John Keis called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and
the following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll
call:
PLANNING COMMISSION:
Mr. John Keis
Mr. Scott Barraclough
Mr. Tom Duray
Mr. Tom Roycraft
Ms. Kathy Weihe
Mr. Tom Wojcik
ABSENT: Mr. Dan Knudsen
ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jeremy Brodin, Cable TV Prod.
Ms. Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk
The minutes of the March 13, 2003 Planning Commission meeting
were approved as submitted.
Bob Bisciglia, Bisciglia Construction, appeared before the Commission
requesting approval of a Conditional Use Permit allowing expansion of
a non - conforming use at 450 Little Canada Road as proposed by St. John's
Church. Bisciglia reported that the house will be used for temporary
housing for the needy. The property was recently donated to St. John's
and is in need of updating. A small expansion is also planned which
would decrease the number of bedrooms from eight to five, make the living
space more usable, and extend a stairway.
Keis pointed out the City Planner's comment relative to the front yard
setback. Bisciglia reported that the house is setback about 500 feet from
Little Canada Road. The expansion that is planned does not violate any
setback requirements of the City.
Roycraft asked about usage of the house. Bisciglia reported that there
would be one Rill -time resident of the house. In addition to that resident,
the house will be able to accommodate five to six adults. The house will
be used as temporary and short -term living accommodations for needy
individuals.
