BMP Name: Public Education and Outreach Program <br />Unique ID: 6 -01 -R <br />MCM: #6 — Pollution Prevention /Good Housekeeping For <br />Municipal Operations <br />COr1MUNIIV PRIDE <br />1953 - 2003 <br />Description: <br />The City's public education and outreach program will implement programs designed to inform the <br />general public, businesses and visitors of the need for Pollution Prevention/Good Housekeeping for <br />Municipal Operations. <br />Justification: <br />This is a required BMP under the NPDES General Permit in Part V.G.1.b. Also, educating the <br />community and getting people involved is a great way to gain support on storm water issues. <br />Responsible Staff /Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Track and record education and outreach activities related to each BMP 6 -02 -R to 6 -07. <br />2. Maintain City website annually. <br />3. Update flyers and education materials, as needed. <br />4. Track number of newsletter articles for each BMP. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. Maintain City website annually. <br />2. Continue publishing City newsletter as budget allows. <br />Education Program/Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: Residents, developers, businesses, volunteers, visitors to the City. <br />2. Increased awareness: The program will make known the importance of storm water issues and <br />how people can make an impact on a larger scale. <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
