BMP Name: Spill Prevention and Control Program <br />Unique ID: 6 -07 <br />MCM: #6 — Pollution Prevention /Good Housekeeping For <br />Municipal Operations <br />COMMUNUV PRIDE <br />1953 - 2003 <br />Description: <br />The City will provide ongoing training for its maintenance staff for spill prevention and control. <br />Justification: <br />Spill prevention and control plans are applicable to City sites where hazardous wastes are stored or <br />used. Hazardous wastes include pesticides, paints, cleaners, petroleum products, fertilizers, and <br />solvents. <br />Responsible Staff /Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Review existing training materials and programs and develop an annual program by March 2005. <br />2. Conduct a minimum of one training session per year on spill prevention and control to staff <br />involved in handling hazardous materials. <br />3. Track number of training events and staff trained annually. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. As described in the measurable goals. <br />Education Program /Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: All City staff. <br />2. Increased awareness: The program will make known the importance of storm water issues and <br />how staff activities can impact water quality. <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
