Hanson <br />Background: <br />In accordance with the feasibility study, plans and specification, the 2003 Street and Utility <br />Improvements project was advertised and bids were opened on Thursday March 20, 2003. This <br />project includes the reconstruction of Sextant and Stark Streets; the construction of Market Place <br />Drive; construction of Rondeau Park; and improvements at Spooner Park and the Demont Ice <br />Rink area. The Engineers estimate for all of this work is $1,270,000. <br />Bids: <br />A total of 16 construction companies and 8 suppliers /subcontractors requested copies of the <br />plans and specifications. The following nine contractors submitted bids: <br />• Forest Lake Contracting <br />• Frattalone Paving <br />• Hardrives <br />• Midwest Asphalt <br />• Northdale Construction <br />• Palda & Sons <br />• Park Construction <br />• TA Schifsky <br />• Tower Asphalt <br />Recommendation: <br />The City Engineer is still in the process of evaluating the bids and possible options for award of <br />the project.
