Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
As you will recall, at the November 20, 2002 Council meeting, a PUD Permit was approved for Taste
of Scandinavia allowing an industrial /retail operation in the Market Place Shopping Center. The
space to be occupied was to be approximately 90% industrial (bakery) and 10% retail. At that
meeting there was discussion relating to the future addition of a dining/seating area should the
existing coffee shop in the shopping center relocate (see minutes attached). It appears that this is now
the case, and Taste of Scandinavia has submitted revised plans that include a dining area.
In discussing this revision with the City Planner, it was his recommendation this change in the PUD
Permit be reviewed by the Council for approval. Given that the necessity for a PUD Permit was
generated by the size of the bakery operation and the revision expands the retail aspects of the
business, the Planner did not feel it was necessary to go through the formal hearing process to amend
the PUD Permit.
