2001. ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE MINNESOTA UNIFORM FIRE CODE <br />2001.010. ADOPTION OF FIRE CODE. There is hereby adopted by the Council of the <br />City of Little Canada for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to <br />life and property from fire or explosion, that certain Code known as the Minnesota Uniform Fire <br />Code, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which Code, <br />not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the City Administrator and <br />the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth herein. <br />2001.020. ENFORCEMENT. <br />(A) The Chief of the Fire Department serving the City, or his representative authorized by <br />him, shall enforce the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />(B) The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as <br />inspectors as shall from time to time become necessary. The Chief of the Fire Department may <br />recommend the employment of technical inspectors, who, when such authorization is made, shall be <br />selected through an examination to determine their fitness for the position. The examination shall be <br />open to members and non - members of the Fire Department and appointments made after <br />examination shall be for an indefinite teim with removal only for cause. <br />2001.030. DEFINITIONS. <br />(A) Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code, it shall <br />be held to mean the City of Little Canada. <br />(B) Wherever the term "corporation counsel" is used in the Minnesota Uniform Fire <br />Code, it shall be held to mean the attorney for the City of Little Canada. <br />2001.040. ESTABLISHMENT OF LIMITS OF DISTRICTS IN WHICH STORAGE OF <br />FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS IN OUTSIDE ABOVE- GROUND TANKS IS TO <br />BE PROHIBITED. <br />(A) The limits referred to in Section 15.201 of the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code in which <br />storage of flammable or combustible liquids in outside above - ground tanks is prohibited, are herby <br />established as follows: There shall be no storage of such flammable liquids within fifty (50) feet of <br />any building. <br />(B) The limits referred to in Section 15.601 of the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code in which <br />new bulk plants for flammable or combustible liquids are prohibited, are hereby established as <br />follows: No bulk plants shall be permitted within the corporate limits of the City. <br />2001.050.
