2001. ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE MINNESOTA UNIFORM FIRE CODE 2001.010. ADOPTION OF FIRE CODE. There is hereby adopted by the Council of the City of Little Canada for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, that certain Code known as the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which Code, not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the City Administrator and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth herein. 2001.020. ENFORCEMENT. (A) The Chief of the Fire Department serving the City, or his representative authorized by him, shall enforce the provisions of this Ordinance. (B) The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as inspectors as shall from time to time become necessary. The Chief of the Fire Department may recommend the employment of technical inspectors, who, when such authorization is made, shall be selected through an examination to determine their fitness for the position. The examination shall be open to members and non - members of the Fire Department and appointments made after examination shall be for an indefinite teim with removal only for cause. 2001.030. DEFINITIONS. (A) Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the City of Little Canada. (B) Wherever the term "corporation counsel" is used in the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the attorney for the City of Little Canada. 2001.040. ESTABLISHMENT OF LIMITS OF DISTRICTS IN WHICH STORAGE OF FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS IN OUTSIDE ABOVE- GROUND TANKS IS TO BE PROHIBITED. (A) The limits referred to in Section 15.201 of the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code in which storage of flammable or combustible liquids in outside above - ground tanks is prohibited, are herby established as follows: There shall be no storage of such flammable liquids within fifty (50) feet of any building. (B) The limits referred to in Section 15.601 of the Minnesota Uniform Fire Code in which new bulk plants for flammable or combustible liquids are prohibited, are hereby established as follows: No bulk plants shall be permitted within the corporate limits of the City. 2001.050.
