<br /> <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To: Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />From: Laura Linehan, Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />Date: February 25, 2026 <br /> <br />Re: Authorize Issuance of a Request for Proposal for Brand and Logo Refresh Design <br />Services <br /> <br />Action To Be Considered: <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Staff to issue a request for proposal for a City of Little Canada Brand and Logo Refresh <br />Design Services. <br /> <br />Background: <br />As outlined in the recent Quarter 1 2026 Strategic Plan Update, staff is working on several items in <br />2026. This request for proposal is a direct result of the action item entitled Enhance branded <br />communication by reevaluating city brand guide. <br /> <br />Existing Logo <br />Based on historical records, the current city logo has been utilized since 1976. The logo, originally a <br />bright red, was adjusted to a more muted shade of red in early 2022. This request for proposals is <br />not to redesign the city’s existing and historically significant logo, but rather to modernize the font <br />within the logo, and have that font consistently utilized in city communication efforts <br /> <br />Request for Proposal – Brand and Logo Refresh Design Services: <br />The city is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional graphic design services <br />for a city brand and logo refresh. This proposal also includes the option to redesign the city’s <br />quarterly print newsletter. <br /> <br />The goals for this brand and logo redesign include: <br />• Design and produce a modernized adaptation of the current city logo with updated <br />typography. <br />• Provide recommended brand color palettes that include primary, secondary, and grayscale <br />palettes <br />• Provide three to four “graphic elements” to complement the city’s logo that can be utilized <br />as part of the city’s website redesign and print materials. <br />• Provide designs compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA in all applicable categories. <br />• Provide all raw design files to city following project completion. City shall be owners of <br />materials. <br />• Optional: This proposal also includes an option for redesigning the city’s quarterly print <br />newsletter. <br />
