Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesene:
iDibUNLST[ IC'ITOR
Joel R. Hanson
As part of the cost of processing developer deposit applications, i.e. Architectural Reviews,
Conditional Use Permits, Subdivisions, Rezonings, etc., the City currently charges a $75
Administration Fee which is intended to cover the cost of postage for mailing hearing notices as well
as staff time for processing the application. This fee has been at the $75 level for a number of years
(at least six years).
In order to more accurately offset staff time relative to cost of processing these developer deposit
applications, we are proposing the following change in the City Administration Pee:
$100 minimum, or 20% of processing costs, whichever is greater.
Processing costs include such items as publication costs, consultant review costs, recording fees, etc.
City staff time is typically proportional to the level of these processing costs.
This fee will be subject to any limitations the State of Minnesota may impose upon users' fees
associated with development. This topic is currently the subject of review by the Legislature.
