April 26, 2001 «Name» «Address» «City», «State» «Zip» RE: Sump Pump Inspection Program Final Letter Dear «Who»: On April 25, 2001 the Little Canada City Council authorized staff to send you this final letter requesting permission to inspect your property for sump pump compliance as part of our mandatory sump pump inspection program. We only have eight properties remaining to be inspected to complete this program. Our records indicate that your property has not been inspected. We have sent you four letters notifying you of the inspection program and requesting your help in scheduling an inspection. Our inspector has also been to your house at least twice since the inception of the program and has left a yellow tag with a number to call back to set up an appointment for the inspection. The City wishes to make every effort to work with our residents. We also need to be consistent in the treatment of our residents, and this inspection is necessary to verify the status of sump pump compliance on your property. If you choose not to allow us to inspect your sump pump, we will be implementing a water /sewer bill surcharge of $100 per month to noncompliant properties as provided for by Little Canada Ordinance 205.080 G. Your property is considered to be noncompliant until it is inspected. If we do not inspect your property by May 31, 2001, we impose the $100.00 surcharge starting June 1 2001 and include this on your July 2001 (2 "d Ouarter) water bill. The charge will continue until compliance is achieved. The inspector is available just about any time from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call Howard R. Green Company at 651- 644 -4389 to set up an appointment to avoid fines for noncompliance. We look forward to working with you to complete this effort.
