Hanson Email: cityhall @ci .little - canada.mn.us MEMORANDUM TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator DATE: April 20, 2001 RE: Reconvene Debt Levy Reduction Committee At our Goal Setting session of April 16th, the 7ih ranked goal was to Reconvene the Debt Levy Reduction Committee for the purpose of revisiting their 1999 recommendation regarding the future allocations of available debt levy dollars. This action is appropriate given our dramatic drop in the relative rankings of Ramsey County municipalities (see attached comparisons) coupled with the increasing demands for capital improvements to provide the level of services desired by our residents. With $38,000 of tax cuts still to be made over the next two budget years, the Committee should determine if modifications to their initial recommendation are necessary. Member of this committee were as follows: •:• Mrs. Betty Davison, a 40 year Little Canada resident • Mr. Bob Dolle, owner of D & T Trucking • Mr. Tom Duray, a Little Canada resident and owner of the Hoggsbreath (elected chairperson) • Mr. Mike Finegan, Little Canada resident (elected vice - chairperson) • Mr. Steve Garske, Little Canada resident • Mr. Jim Maahs, Little Canada resident • Mr. John Newstrand, Little Canada resident and Slumberland employee • Mr. Roger Schiltz, owner of All American Recreation • Mr. Tom Vogt, owner of Gas -N -Go Given the critical nature of the timing of this goal relative to our 2002 Budget process, staff has prepared the attached action plan.
