MAYOR
Michael L Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little - canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
DATE: January 18, 2001
RE: First Amendment to Joint Powers Agreement for the Little Canada Interim Bus
Hub
The attached first amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Little Canada
and the Metro Transit for the Little Canada Interim Bus Hub focuses on the term of the
agreement. The original agreement required the bus hub project to be completed no later than
December 31, 2000. The first amendment to this agreement, extends the completion date of the
project to no later than September 7, 2001. This will enable us to complete the site restoration
work that still needs to be done and also allow us to continue to bill Metro Transit for the work
that needs to be accomplished.
Also, the original agreement required the City of Little Canada to relocate the interim bus hub at
any time after August 15, 2003, if we develop the area where the bus hub is located. This is now
being revised to prior to August 15, 2003. This reflects Metro Transit's intent to protect its
investment in the hub until 2003.
Based on my review of the agreement, I recommend Council approval of the First Amendment
to the Joint Powers Agreement for the construction of the Little Canada interim bus hub.
\ \CLCSR V 01 \HOME \KrisP \CORRESP \Kris' 2001 \Bu:
Page 74
