RAM is a commodity <br />item, with the price shifting depending on sales and promotions, but the cost would be <br />approximately $230.00. The computer will hold up to four hard drives internally. Since a <br />single two hour baseball game can use up to 58 GB of storage space, and we shoot <br />dozens of games per year, there can never be enough storage space. Hard drives are also a <br />commodity item, with 3TB drives often available under $200.00. Staff would wait for a <br />good purchase opportunity to maximize memory and storage to serve video production <br />needs for several years. <br />Staff recommends the City Council approve the purchase of a Mac Pro system from the <br />Apple state and local government store at a cost of $3,584.88 with funds coming from the <br />Cable Fund. Staff further recommends the City Council approve the purchase of <br />accessories including memory and hard drives with a total cost not to exceed $1,000.00, <br />funds taken from the Cable Fund. <br />
