MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 11, 2001 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 11°i day of <br />October, 2001 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair John Keis called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and <br />the following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll <br />call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Thomas Roycraft <br />ABSENT: Mr. Tom Wojcik <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />MINUTES The minutes of the September 13, 2001 Planning Commission meeting <br />were approved as submitted. <br />CUP — 317 Mr. Dave Youngquist, 317 Demont Avenue, appeared before the <br />DEMONT Commission requesting approval of a Conditional Use Permit so that he <br />AVENUE — might construct a 14 foot by 24 foot accessory garage on his property to <br />YOUNGQUIST replace a 12 foot by 12 foot accessory garage that previously existed, <br />but was lost due to a fire. Youngquist reported that the garage would be <br />be used for the storage of miscellaneous items such as a lawn tractor, <br />mower, gardening tools, bicycles, and a fishing boat. Youngquist <br />currently has an attached garage that measures 22 feet by 22 feet. <br />The Planning Commission noted receipt of a letter from Jim and Cindi <br />Pack at 311 Demont Avenue opposing the size of the accessory garage <br />given concerns with water problems in the area. There was also concern <br />for the steep hill at the back of the Youngquist lot, and the Commission <br />asked how close the proposed garage would come to the hill. <br />Youngquist reported that he was not sure of the exact placement of the <br />garage at this time, but is considering that it would be from 60 to 90 feet <br />behind his house. The back of the garage would likely backup to the hill. <br />Youngquist reported that there would be three to four courses of block <br />Page 12 <br />
