Hanson <br />Email: cityhall @ci.little- canada,mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director <br />DATE: October 5, 2001 <br />RE: Additional Amenities Purchases for Little Canada Road <br />We are nearing the end of the Little Canada Road Construction project and I need Council <br />direction on the following items. <br />Flag Holders <br />The Canadian Days Committee has requested that we install flag holders on the street <br />light poles along Little Canada Road. They want to continue the tradition of displaying <br />both the American and Canadian flags on city streets during Canadian Days. <br />I have checked with Excel Outdoor Lighting and they recommend that we purchase the <br />flag holders from the manufacture who supplied the light pole. They provide a quality <br />holder that matches the poles and will not rust or discolor. Other manufactures may not <br />match as well and could rust and thus discolor the light poles. <br />There are a total of 59 light poles installed along Little Canada Road as follows: <br />Street Section North Side South Side <br />Rice Street to Market Street 15 15 <br />Market Street to the RR 11 1 <br />RR to County Road C 15 2 <br />Total 41 18 <br />The flag holders will cost $98.00 each (Including tax and shipping) and Public Works <br />could install them.
