MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
515 Little Canada Road. Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall@ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
DATE: August 3, 2001
RE: No Parking at Park Street/County Road C
Due to a high volume of vehicles parking on both sides of Park Street at the intersection of
County Road C, staff was requested to evaluate any potential public safety issues.
I have inspected the site on different days at various times and determined that there is no real
pattern as to when and how many vehicles are parking in this area. However, when vehicles
park on both sides of Park Street, the street becomes very narrow. This could result in a public
safety concern especially at the intersection of Park Street and County Road C where vehicles
are attempting to transition to and from County Road C. Please refer to the attached sketch.
Based on the above I recommend that a "No Parking" zone be established along the west side of
Park Street south of County Road C from County Road C to the first driveway. This should
provide better visibility and a safer area for vehicles to turn on and off County Road C.
H:VessicaJW genda\200Iono parking on Park St.doc
Page 10
