Hanson <br />Email: cityhall @ci.little- canada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director <br />DATE: June 21, 2001 <br />RE: 2001 Street Seal Coating <br />On Thursday, June 7, 2001, the City of Little Canada received, opened, and read aloud the bids <br />for our street seal coating. In an effort to get the best value for the City, we requested bids using <br />virgin and recycled aggregate. Attached is a summary of the bids received. Also, attached is the <br />list of streets to be seal coated. Due to the anticipated development of the Frattalone Excavating <br />site and the resulting disruption of Spruce Street we deleted the seal coating of Spruce Street <br />from this years seal coating program. <br />After evaluating the bids, it was determined that Pearson Bros., Inc. provided the best value for <br />the City at an estimated total value of 532,554.35. There are sufficient funds in our street budget <br />for this work. <br />I recommend that the Council direct staff to enter into a contract with Pearson Bros., Inc. for <br />our 2001 street seal coating. <br />II:Vessical \ Agenda \2001 \Seal Coating Pearson.doc <br />Page 118 <br />
