The following materials and construction <br />methods, and none other, shall be used in making sewer connections to the municipal system. <br />(1) Materials. Wherever possible, the connecting sewer shall join the <br />building at an elevation which is below the basement floor of such building. <br />(b) In the event that a sewer service exists from the main sewer to a point outside of the <br />street. the contractor shall excavate and expose the upper end of the service pipe. <br />The elevation of the pipe leaving the structure shall be determined, and the difference <br />between the two (2) pipes shall be sufficient so that a minimum grade of one - eighth <br />Page 94 <br />
