SAMPLE RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, Rush Line Corridor is defined as the North State Trunk Highway 61 <br />transportation corridor from Rush City through St. Paul; and <br />WHEREAS, center your community name herel is committed to preserving this <br />corridor for future rail transit alternatives; and <br />WHEREAS, The Rush Line Corridor has significant transportation, safety and <br />land use issues; and <br />WHEREAS, There are opportunities for a variety of multi -modal short term and <br />long term transportation improvements in the corridor, including bus improvements, <br />commuter, light and freight rail, multi use paths and Intelligent Transportation Systems <br />(ITS); and <br />WHEREAS, The Rush Line Task Force consists of cities, counties and towns <br />from St. Paul to Rush City; and <br />WHEREAS, The Task Force is considering transit improvements and land use <br />along this corridor; and <br />WHEREAS, wishes to collaboratively plan for mufti-modal <br />transportation improvements to the corridor and for the related land use and <br />development impacts; and <br />WHEREAS, A Joint Powers Agreement is in place for the Rush Line Task Force <br />to direct the consideration of transit improvements and and use along the corridor. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That [enter your community name <br />herel ratifies the Joint Powers Agreement for the Rush Line Corridor Task Force and <br />identifies as its authorized representative and as its <br />alternate representative to participate as a member of the Task Force. <br />Page 74 <br />
