Hanson <br />Email: cityhall @ci little- canada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Duane Williams, Fire Marshal <br />DATE: November 2, 2000 <br />RE: - K & J Catering <br />Uniform Fire Code — 2501.16.1 Posting of Room Capacity <br />Any room having an occupant load of 50 or more where fixed seats are not installed and which is <br />used for assembly purposes, shall have the capacity of the room posted in a conspicuous place on <br />an approved sign near the main exit from that room: Such sign shall be maintained legible by the <br />owner or the owner's authorized agent and shall indicate the number of occupants permitted for <br />each room use. <br />Occupant Load: Lower Level, 433 Little Canada Road: 200 <br />1001.5.1 Maintenance <br />*Fire extinguishers must be serviced and recharged. <br />*Hood Kidde System must be recharged. <br />1211.1 Means of Egress Illuminated <br />*Exit lights and emergency lights shall be provided and maintained. <br />*The north rear exit and emergency lights must be repaired or replaced. <br />*Stored items in north rear exit hallway must be removed. <br />City Ordinance <br />*A1I parking spaces must be striped and a handicap parking space must be indicated. <br />*Discarded items in rear parking lot, i.e. old cooking stoves, old iron grates, old advertising sign, <br />etc. must be removed. <br />*The kitchen must be inspected by Ramsey County Health Department. <br />My experience with K & J Catering in the past has always been a positive experience. Further, <br />the North St. Paul Deputy Fire Marshal informed me that K & J is a reputable company and no <br />complaints have ever been filed on their behalf. <br />Page 12 <br />
