MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaVaile
Steve Mercian
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little - canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: November 3, 2000
RE: 2001 Budget Revisions
Based on the results of our workshop of November ls`, the net levy has been reduced to
3.81 %. The Council will have to discuss whether or not they want to use the Capital
Improvement Levy to further buy down the increase or if there are any other options that
should be considered.
Two other changes in the Water /Sewer Capital Replacement Budget I wish to note are as
follows:
C. The amount listed for office furniture for 2000 was incorrectly stated at $1,800. It
should be revised to $6,800. This included new office furniture for the Public Works
Director and a new workstation for the Accounting Supervisor.
❖ I am also proposing to add $15,000 to the 2001 expenditures to provide us with the
ability to contract for the painting of all the City's fire hydrants. We have received a
preliminary quote at $30 per hydrant plus materials. We will also be evaluating the
possibility of additional summer hires and the use of the new striper to undertake this
project.
If there are any other comments or questions you have regarding the budget, we can
address those at Wednesday's meeting.
Page 41
