Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nelson
2995 Vanderbie Street
Little Canada, MN 55117
July 10, 2000
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada, MN 55I17
Attention: Water Department
To Whom It May Concem:
y•.rs fire -
`%/y z/ 7 7
I am writing in response to the attached invoice dated March 6, 2000.
In February of this year our well water pomp failed. In order to make the right decision financially we
gathereA all the necessary information and costs of installing city water verses tiring our current well water
system. Many calls were placed and a cost comparison of the two options was complied
However, when we called the City of Little (:anada and asked for a breakdown of costs involved with each
charge at no time were we given a cost of a water availability charge of 300.00 dollars — a substantial
number! That was the first time we contacted your office. The second was when we physically came into
your office and paid for our permit (see attached permit) as you can see — still no charge indicating WAC.
My point is simply this, had we received the right information the first time we may have chosen the later
of the two since 300.00 dollars is a substantial amount when comparing costs. Could this be a clerical
error or a simple human error? Regardless, I have been seriously misled with information not once but
twice.
I hope that your concern about this situation will make it possible for you to resolve it without any further
action on my part.
Page 9
