CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />479 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 477, <br />GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO MEDIAONE NORTH <br />CENTRAL COMMUNICATIONS CORP. TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE, <br />AND MAINTAIN A CABLE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM <br />IN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, RELATING TO THE <br />UNDERGROUNDING OF CABLE TELEVISION EQUIPMENT AND <br />THE ABANDONMENT OF CABLE TELEVISION EQUIPMENT <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />Statement of Intent and Purpose. This Ordinance is intended <br />to amend Ordinance No. 477, granting a franchise to MediaOne <br />North Central Communications Corp., pursuant to Section 13, <br />Subparagraph 3, of said Ordinance No. 477, and the City of Little <br />Canada and MediaOne North Central Communications Corp agree that <br />this Ordinance amending Franchise Ordinance No. 477 is in the <br />public interest of the City of Little Canada and its residents. <br />Section 2. <br />Section 3, Paragraph 4, entitled "Undergrounding of Cable," <br />is amended to read as follows: <br />Section 3. Construction Standards. <br />4. Undergrounding of C -•le. Unless otherwise required by <br />action of City Council, Grantee must place newly <br />constructed facilities underground in areas of City <br />where all other utility lines are placed underground. <br />Amplifier boxes and pedestal mounted terminal boxes may <br />be placed above ground if existing technology <br />reasonably requires, but shall be of such size and <br />design and shall be so located as not to be unsightly <br />or unsafe, all pursuant to plans submitted with <br />Grantee's permit application(s) and approved by City. <br />Page 3 <br />
