MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL,
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: September 8, 2000
RE: Vacation of Drainage Easement
627 Keller Parkway
Denise Kerr, owner of 627 Keller Parkway, has petitioned for the vacation of a portion of
drainage easement on her property. After the fill permit was approved for this property, a
drainage easement was discovered. The area of this easement requested to be vacated
would interfere with the placement of a new house on the property. Attached is a
diagram showing the filling proposed as well as placement of the new house.
The easement was established at the request of the Watershed when this area was platted.
(See letter dated August 11, 1981.) After reviewing this issue, the Watershed has no
objections to the modification of the drainage easement as proposed. (See letter dated
September 6'h.) Cliff Aichinger feels the west 20 feet of this lot is adequate to protect the
drainage of the area.
I would recommend that the Council call for a public hearing to consider the vacation of
drainage easement as requested. The public hearing would be held on Wednesday,
September 27's, at 7:30 p.m.
Page 21
