Green Company <br />CONSULTING ENGINEERS <br />August 9, 2000 <br />File: 805750J -0071 <br />Mr. Jay Palda <br />Palda & Sons Inc. <br />1462 Dayton Avenue <br />St. Paul, MN 55104 -6308 <br />RE: LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENTS <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />Dear Mr. Palda, <br />Following your phone conversation with Terry Maurer, we have discussed the <br />substantial completion date for the Little Canada Road project with the City and have <br />come to the following conclusions. <br />To effectively track and modify the amount of time for substantial completion of the <br />project, substantial completion of the project will be set at 39 working days or October <br />20, 2000 based on the working days being started on August 28, 2000. The working time <br />was set based on information supplied by Palda & Sons. Substantial completion is <br />defined as street reconstruction to provide a bituminous driving surface on Little Canada <br />Road that will be maintainable over the winter months. The substantial completion date <br />will be modified for any delay caused by private utility work and /or weather delays. <br />Working days will be charged in accordance with the Mn /DOT 1988 Standard <br />Specifications for Construction (blue book). <br />The City also agrees to pay an additional $3.46 per ton of bituminous wear above the <br />unit bid price to compensate for any increase in labor or material costs that may occur <br />prior to the paving of the wear course next spring on Little Canada Road.
