MEMO
To: Joel Hanson
From: Lee Eifering
Subject: Burying of NSP Power
Date: August 18, 2000
We have been working with Dwight Odegard from Northern States Power to bury the powerlines
along Little Canada Road. Dwight has completed his estimate for the work and the costs are as
follows. The total cost for burying the powerlines along Little Canada Road $350,120.00.
However, we told Dwight that the City should not have to pay the cost for the total amount of
burying because the poles and lines would need to be moved even if the line remained overhead.
The cost moving the powerlines without burying is estimated at $124,875.00. The remaining cost
that will be billed to the City is $225,245.00. We had previously estimated the cost of the burying
to be 250,000.00 for the purpose of determining project costs.
I will contact Larry Feldhahn with Ramsey County and discuss the use of the counties amenity
money to reimburse the City for these costs.
Document2
Page 128
