MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall@ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: May 19, 2000
RE: Joint Powers Agreement — Twin Lake Pines
In reviewing the Joint Powers Agreement for the Twin Lake Pines development, the
Vadnais Heights City Council is recommending a change Item h. in the agreement which
would commit Little Canada to 25% of the total cost of the realignment of Twin Lake
Blvd. at Vadnais Blvd. Previous language committed the City to up to 25% of the total
cost.
At this point in time the City has no idea what the cost of the realignment will be.
Technically the intersection is not located in Little Canada, but totally in Vadnais Heights
(see section map attached). However, it can be argued that Little Canada residents will
benefit from the realignment. Therefore, in the spirit of cooperation I would recommend
approval of the change in the Joint Powers Agreement. If the City Council is not
comfortable with that direction, please let me know at Wednesday's meeting.
Page 64
