MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 23, 2000 <br />ZONING CODE <br />AMENDMENT <br />RELATING TO <br />MEDICAL <br />CLINICS <br />AMENDMENT <br />TO T.H.P. COMP <br />PLAN AND <br />ZONING CODE <br />FOR DISTRICT <br />3 -2 <br />Fahey opened the public hearing to consider an amendment to the Zoning <br />Code relating to the definition of medical clinics. It was noted that the <br />Planning Commission has recommended approval of the amendment. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Scalze, seconded by Fahey, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Given that there weren't four members of the Council present, this matter <br />had to be tabled. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -5 -133 — TABLING ACTION ON THE <br />AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING CODE RELATIVE TO THE <br />DEFINITION OF MEDICAL CLINICS TO THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />OF THE JUNE 13, 2000 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (3) Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey opened the public hearing to consider an amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan and the Zoning Code relating to allowed uses <br />and site plan requirements in the City's Redevelopment District No. <br />3 -2, Rice Street and Little Canada Road. It was noted that the <br />Planning Commission has recommended approval. <br />Scalze indicated that she had a concern with the way multi - family housing <br />is addressed and suggested that she would be more comfortable if it were <br />limited to senior citizen housing. Fahey agreed and indicated that he was <br />not in favor of any more multi - family housing other than senior housing. <br />The City Administrator suggested the best way to address the situation <br />may be by precluding certain uses in the PUD District. <br />Fahey again indicated that multi - family housing should be limited to <br />strictly senior housing. Pedersen suggested that the right type of <br />development may make a difference, and suggested that the amendment <br />not be entirely limiting. <br />Page 54 <br />
