MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JUNE 8, 2000
Knudsen stated that it was his understanding that the City wanted to be
creative in this area. He pointed out that limiting the multi- family to
seniors may prevent the submission of a unique, creative concept that the
City may be looking for. Knudsen stated that he agrees with the intent of
the Council, but felt the City should not draw a bold line and limit multi-
family to seniors potentially ruling out some creative uses.
Barraclough pointed out that the City has control given the PUD zoning of
the area and suggested that the language be left as presented.
Carson felt that leaving the multi - family housing open may prevent a good
commercial use from being proposed.
The City Planner indicated that the Land Use Plan designates the location
of commercial development as well as multi - family housing development.
Barraclough recommended no changes to the Comp Plan for Rice
Street/Little Canada Road PUD District that would eliminate the potential
of non - senior multi - family housing.
Motion seconded by Kraemer.
Motion carried 5 — 1. Carson voted against.
CODE The Planning Commission welcomed Luke Vigoren as the City's new
ENFORCEMENT Code Enforcement Intern.
ADJOURN
Knudsen recommended that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Montour.
Motion carried 6 — 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
Respec lly subm. ted,
e /,/ .fr
Kat y Gla ter
Deputy Clerk
Page 57
