Dan & Colette Maciejeski
2557 Spruce Street
Little Canada, MN 55117
(651) 484 -7473
June 9, 2000
RE: Townhouse development between Rice and Park streets
Parcel No. 07- 29 -22 -22 -0068.
City Council & Mr.Jeffrey Bock:
Our backyard is the property directly across Park
street (parcels 11 -16) from the proposed development
driveway. T am unable to attend the city council meeting
due to my work schedule and would request the two following
concerns be mentioned in the discussions.
Our property has the easement for utilities, and also
has a line of pine trees growing on it. Our request is that
if the utilities are to be tapped in our property, that the
digging be done in our existing gravel driveway, rather
than cutting down trees to tap in at a different spot.
The second point concerns any proposed street
lighting, especially on Park street itself. We and our
children enjoy astronomy as a hobby. The level of night
lighting in our area is already so bright as to wash out
most of the stars in the night sky. Our request'is to at
least avoid putting in a formal street light at or near the
proposed driveway entrance on Park. A street light there
would totally ruin what little darkness remains in our
backyard.
Your consideration of these two matters will be much
appreciated.
Sincerely,
Dan & Colette Maciejeski
Page 62A
