MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Michael Fahey and City Council Members
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: April 21, 2000
RE: Ongoing Service Arrangement with Julie Manville -Camp
Julie's last day with the city was April 21. Given the time that it will take to find a
suitable replacement, I have asked Julie to stay on in a limited capacity to oversee
financial operations and ensure the department is properly organized until a new person
can take over. We also have some audit preparation work that needs to be completed that
is best handled by Julie.
Therefore, I am recommending that we retain her for an estimated five to ten hours per
week. She will remain on the City's payroll at an hourly rate of $40. (This rate is
justifiable when one considers what we would pay our CPA firm to have ajunior staff
person handle these functions. That person would also lack Julie's experience with the
City.)
I anticipate this arrangement continuing into and possibly through the month of June
depending on Julie's schedule and the comfort level of our new employee. This expense
will work within current budget parameters.
H:VessicaJ \Corresp\2000Uulie Council Memo.d
Page 186
